Follow along as three Millennium 2021 Summer Interns give us highlights of a Day in their Life.

Haley Lucas, Human Resources – Talent Acquisition

How do you start your day?

Whether I’m commuting to the office or signing on remotely, I start with a cup of tea, a quick email scan, and exchange good mornings with my team. From there, I’m off to an intern speaker series event. Then, I work on sourcing with a team member, including examining open roles, reviewing submitted applications, and scanning resumes and profiles. This routine has helped me practice looking for candidates!

Who do you meet with and learn from regularly?

Every day at 11, I meet with my intern buddy, a team member who functions as a mentor and career coach. She’s fantastic; I ask her questions about upcoming meetings, and she updates me on her day and the team’s progress on projects.

What has been your favorite part of the Millennium summer internship?

I love that I’m constantly learning. I join shadow calls with different hiring managers across the Firm and learn so much about other departments. I find my coworkers to be welcoming. They share their time and are willing to answer my questions.

How do you start your day?

I log into the Millennium portal and check in with my intern buddy. I have a great relationship with my buddy. I can ask him about anything since he’s always willing to help me. The people in my department are generous and want us to feel comfortable.

What projects have you been working on?

I’m currently working on enhancing the interface of software that will help Portfolio Managers do back-testing. I also prepare for demos where I listen and learn as more experienced members of my department share their creations and demonstrate their functions.

What has been your favorite part of the Millennium summer internship? I enjoy attending intern program-wide events such as Introduction to Improvisation. These events allow me to connect with other interns and try new things, like improvisation, to learn how to apply flexibility to my work.

Krishitha Raghuraman, Regulatory Compliance – Policies and Procedures

How do you start your day?

A typical day starts with checking my emails to see if anyone needs help with time-sensitive matters. Then I get into ongoing projects for the team to help in any way I can and learn throughout the process.

What projects have you been working on?

One of the things I do is research projects. One of the most interesting ones has been updating existing research regarding brokers. I get to learn a lot about the industry in the process.

What has been your favorite part of the Millennium summer internship?

I appreciate how everyone on the Compliance team is always ready to help. I have daily check-ins with my manager and weekly meetings with my team, which are great opportunities to get to know the team better, ask questions, and absorb everything I’m learning.
