We chatted with AnnMarie Croswell, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, about her experience with our Learning and Development Programs, her advice for mentors, and her NYC favorites.

Highlights of the Leadership Program?

It made me feel valued. I saw it as a unique opportunity to have access to professionals who were there to help me “level up.”  It was as if I was given a life coach, a bit of psychology, a bit of mentorship, some behavioral tweaks and even life hacks to help me achieve my goals, organize my thoughts, prioritize projects and manage people.

Mentor or Mentee?

When I first engaged in formal mentorship, like many, I thought “What do I have to offer? I have not been at Millennium long enough to qualify!”  But you quickly learn that mentorship is a two-way street; you get as much out of it as you put into it. Everyone can benefit from engaging with someone who is more removed from their day-to-day to help them realign their thoughts, look at a situation from another angle, or navigate a problem. I really enjoy listening to others and finding solutions—maybe it’s my Psychology degree!

Structured speaker series or group team building?

Sometimes I tend to over-research, so I really appreciate that the Firm has done the hard work for me in compiling so many learning resources that touch on the topics that I am interested in. My personal favorite, and one that I continue to go back to, is the Wellbeing & Productivity series for High Performance Coaching. I find it to be engaging and collaborative, and I appreciated the face-to-face (video) human interaction with colleagues during lockdown. I now follow the coach on Instagram!

Chop’t or Chick-Fil-A?

My lunches are boring (salads from Chop’t!), but after work I’ve loved Avra, Fig & Olive or even just easy guac and margaritas at Taco Dumbo. The new office is closer to Inside Park at St. Bart’s and Hudson Malone, so there are plenty of new favorites to explore.

Mets or Yankees?  

Yankees all day, despite growing up surrounded by ’86 Mets diehards. I never even stepped foot into Shea (yes Shea!) until my first time in 2015!

Documentaries or Comedies?

All things murder (I’m a crime junkie) but I also die laughing watching Schitt’s Creek, Arrested Development and Toast of London.
