mChats with Adebola Osakwe
We chatted with Adebola Osakwe, Millennium’s Global Head of Talent and Diversity, about the importance of diversity, leadership, and her favorite ways to spend time outside of work.
What does diversity mean to you?
Diversity means building an organization comprised of all kinds of individuals who have varied experiences that help inform how they show up at Millennium to solve problems and be creative every day.
How do you define leadership?
Leadership is about being authentic, thinking both strategically and innovatively, while also being someone who can empower, develop and support your people.
How do you create an inclusive environment?
To create an inclusive environment, I must be willing to show up as my authentic self, sharing my strengths, shortcomings and being open about where I need to lean on others.
Staycation or weekend getaway?
Weekend getaways because they are so manageable. I love traveling to new places. My husband, three kids, and I live in Connecticut and find it easy to get to Maine, New Hampshire, or Rhode Island for the weekend. Depending on the time of year, we enjoy hiking, boating, or fishing.
Fiction or Non-Fiction?
I really enjoy non-fiction books. I find them educational and think it is so interesting to get a realistic understanding of a specific time, place, or person’s life.
