Learn more about our employees’ career journeys with Millennium through our Q&A sessions. In this “How I Got Here” feature, we check in with Aubhik Mazumdar, a Security Engineer based in our New York office, to hear about his internship, career so far, and top advice for succeeding at Millennium.

What initially excited you about joining Millennium?

The people. The interview process is the best I have experienced. Communication was very smooth, the panel was very welcoming, and the discussions were fruitful. It was apparent from the interviews that I would learn a lot from the team and that they wanted to accelerate my growth both technically and professionally.

What influenced your decision to join the firm full-time after you graduated?

At the end of my internship, I presented my accomplishments to the whole team. I was pleasantly shocked at all I had managed to accomplish in such a short time. I had touched most of the different areas on the team, made small but significant contributions, and developed relationships I would cherish forever.

Senior members of my team also had only praise for the work environment and culture in addition to competitive compensation and an office on Park Avenue. It was an easy decision to join full-time after graduation.

What have you learned here that you did not expect?

Prioritization is a skill everybody should learn and is increasingly important on my team. With so much happening each day, we focus on what will provide the best results.

The sheer number of different technologies we need to support and secure means we need to be able to pick up things quickly, switch context in an instant, and keep up to date with all the latest advancements.

What advice do you have for someone joining Millennium?

Since Millennium is never standing still, you need to be on your toes at all times and be agile and responsive to any events. You must be willing to adapt and reorient yourself based on the situation.
