What first led to your interest in commodities?

I’ve always been interested in how commodities connect the financial world to real, tangible goods that impact everyday life. The interplay of global events, supply and demand, and constant market movement makes this space particularly challenging.

What makes commodities trading different from other financial products?

Unlike some other financial products, commodities are rooted in physical goods. This means traders must factor in various real-world factors and changes, which can move markets quickly.

How does your team work to help support portfolio managers?

We seek to ensure portfolio managers have access to advanced data, analytics and modeling to help them understand and manage risk. Because global commodities markets are sensitive to economic and political shifts, we focus on strong information flow and close collaboration to support smart, timely decisions. We also build new resources to complement their expertise, offering additional insights and capabilities.

What’s the most fulfilling part of leading Millennium’s commodities business?

The most fulfilling part of my job is working with talented people and seeing them grow. Millennium’s culture encourages innovation and teamwork, and it’s fulfilling to help drive growth in such a dynamic market.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Someone at Millennium gave me some wise advice: The harder you work, the luckier you get. As we know, we all need a bit of luck in this industry, but we know that we maximize our chances of success through innovation and constantly improving how we work.
