Millennium’s internship program has become a key pillar of the firm’s expansion in Asia Pacific and the primary pathway to full-time employment for new graduates. It offers ambitious students the opportunity to learn, contribute and build careers at the intersection of global finance and technology.
In this Q&A, Fred Dura, Head of HR for APAC, discusses the evolution of Millennium’s internship program, what makes it distinctive and how the firm is equipping future generations of professionals to thrive in a fast-changing industry.

How has Millennium’s internship program evolved as the firm has grown across Asia Pacific?
Since first launching in 2019, our internship program has grown into a global initiative now active in 10 locations worldwide. In 2025, nearly 200 interns joined for the summer in offices around the world, working on teams across trading, technology and business services.
The growth in Asia Pacific stands out. Roughly half of our global internship class is now based outside the United States, including in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and India. In Summer 2026, we expect to welcome more than 50 interns across these markets — a 50% increase from the previous year. This growth reflects the strength of talent we have found across the region and our commitment to developing future leaders in all markets where we operate.
What makes Millennium’s internship program distinctive?
Millennium is committed to developing the next generation of talent through experiential learning and skill building. Joining Millennium as an intern offers ambitious students the chance to make an impact, grow their skills and start to build meaningful careers in our industry.
From the start, interns and analysts at Millennium are embedded in the day-to-day of their teams, contributing to real business outcomes. They work on structured projects with clear objectives and individualized development plans that seek to ensure they make material progress during their time with us.
Learning and Development is a crucial aspect of our program. We offer an immersive training program for interns covering financial markets, technical skills and business fundamentals. Interns are also paired with mentors and buddies and have opportunities to connect with and learn directly from senior leaders and some of the industry’s most experienced professionals.
Culture is at the core of Millennium. We combine an entrepreneurial mindset, institutional strength and a team-centric environment. We have grown significantly and yet our culture remains agile, collaborative and connected across regions. This structure gives interns exposure across teams and geographies, while our global network of specialists provides the insight and mentorship that help them translate learning into lasting growth.
How does the program help interns build skills for the future — especially as technology and AI reshape the industry?
We believe technology will keep redefining financial services, and we’ve evolved our program to reflect that. Interns have access to sophisticated AI tools and resources and are encouraged to apply AI in their daily roles.
With the rapid advancements in AI, investing in early career talent today is even more critical. Success in our industry demands a mindset that challenges industry norms and critical thinking. Interns and new graduates bring fresh perspectives and native experience using AI in their personal and professional lives.
What excites you most about the future of the program?
As we continue to scale our program globally, our interns are contributing across more teams and disciplines than ever before — gaining exposure that accelerates both learning and impact in a short span of time.
We’re broadening the range of opportunities available to students. In addition to our quantitative researcher program, we expanded our focus to include quantitative developers and modelers. While AI is now an integral part of all roles, we have also introduced a new internship role focused specifically on helping design, develop and implement AI solutions.
One of the things that excites me most is seeing our interns go on to careers at the firm. High performers can expect to be offered full-time roles for when they graduate and join our Analyst programs where they continue to receive hands-on training.
In APAC we hire for a majority of our departments including Technology, Risk, Compliance, Execution Services, Operations and Middle Office, Treasury and Quant Researchers within investment teams.
What advice would you give to students and early-career professionals considering a career at Millennium?
My advice to students is simple: come in focused, eager to learn and ready to engage. Take every opportunity that comes your way. The interns who thrive here are curious, adaptable and self-starters.
If you’re looking to grow in a dynamic, high-performance and meritocratic environment where your contributions have visible impact, Millennium is an incredible place to start.
Internships at Millennium take place each summer typically between May and August. Applications open each year in early August, with interviews running through November, though we’re eager to meet candidates all year round. See open roles and apply here.
