In this feature, we spoke with Christina George, People Business Partner, based in New York City. Read about her journey from an early start in healthcare to building a career at Millennium.

You started your career in healthcare before moving into financial services. What drew you to the industry, and eventually to a role at Millennium?

I started in healthcare, but along the way I became drawn to leadership and how organizations are built and developed. That curiosity led me into HR within financial services, and ultimately to Millennium, where I saw the chance to grow into broader, more strategic work while staying close to a trading environment. 

What does growth look like at Millennium, and how has the firm supported your development?

Growth at Millennium means continually stretching beyond your role and embracing opportunities to evolve professionally and personally. For me, that’s taken shape through expanded business and management coverage, and stepping into people leadership. Within my first year, I was entrusted with reporting directly to the Global Co-Head of Business Partners, an experience that meaningfully accelerated my development.

You collaborate with a wide range of teams across the firm. What makes that experience unique at Millennium?

What makes collaboration at Millennium special is the breadth of teams you get to work with. In my role, that includes partnering with trading desks across fixed income, commodities and quantitative strategies, alongside corporate functions like Legal, Compliance and Communications. It’s the best of both worlds, blending the pace of the trading environment with strategic, advisory work, and that combination is what makes the role so dynamic and rewarding. 

Looking ahead, what are you most excited about in your continued growth at Millennium?

Looking ahead, I’m most excited about continuing to grow as a people manager and further developing my ability to support and empower others on their own career journeys. I’m also looking forward to deepening my partnership with the business in a meaningful and strategic way, contributing to its continued evolution. Just as importantly, I’m excited to grow alongside the firm and continue building my career as Millennium evolves.
